Poem of the month

Poem of the month gives us an opportunity to select a poem each month that we feel needs extra exposure.

Each month Enzo Poetry will rummage through the poems submitted for the month and choose one which will appear on this page every month.

Poets will be notified by email that their poem has been chosen and a small gift will arrive in the post.

We want everyone to have a poem on this page at some point in the future, so all you budding poets out there need to start writing now!

Love is Hard by Clifford Joseph Allen - Dec / Jan Poem of the Month

Love is hard when its from afar
When your Ernest with all your efforts
When you’ve towed the line and spent all your time
Exhausting all of your methods

When the girl you’ve met isn’t quite ready yet
And all your hours are  consumed with desire
Beneath your front and the endless hunt
For passionate flames to burn much higher

Blowing hot then cold but still I will always hold
Onto every single  word you casually say
A gesture a look a phone number you took
I foolishly take it all the wrong way

I wont  give in with the feelings I have within
I don’t care about the rain and the wind blowing hard
Because when were together holding hands forever
Never again will I think love is hard
